Plan beyond the first merge
Read the board changes that can lead to a cascade.
A cascade is a sequence of merges following a placement. One matching pair is the visible first step, but its result may line up with another matching value. Ploposaurus rewards watching how the board changes instead of treating every drop as an isolated move.
Before dropping, ask two questions: what can this block match, and what will the resulting value be near afterward? Predicting the second step is more useful than looking only for the largest number. Some predictions will be wrong. Watching the actual sequence is how you learn to recognize the board patterns more quickly.
The game’s introduction describes a drop that can become a seven-merge chain. That is a possibility to explore, not a promise for every board. Begin with short sequences you can follow. If a position is unclear, prioritize a move whose result you understand. The next board gives you new information, and a deliberate next move is more useful than forcing a chain you cannot yet see.
